Painter’s Block

I relate to writer’s block. As much as I meditate and visualize, even putting the colors into my palate dish, but when I start touching the canvas, there is another “voice” talking to me, (or though me?). Other times, silence, “I AM STUCK in PAINTER’S BLOCK LAND!! This silence is where I must take a leap of faith, just start, like when riding a bicycle for the first time without help, the balance just is there. The brushing without a vision for the outcome starts, but I know I like this color, these textures, this stroke from the brush, tools,….. the canvas is covered with colors and comes alive, and time passes, the balance is there. Done? Maybe, but the love what I see, not sure what I see, and unsure if finished. The next time I look at the piece I am baffled and not caring for it, but then I do see something happening, so I start to “work” with it, and then I’m drawn to a vortex of words, colors, textures, shapes, compositions, and I’m pulled into this world of this particular piece.

No, I don’t do drugs, just a natural creative place I get to go.

Come see my musings and meet my paintings this weekend and/or next weekend at the Art At The Source, Studio #33. https://www.artatthesource.org
