Andrea Kent is a painter based in “SebastaRosa”, Sonoma County, California.

Before embarking on her painting career Andrea Kent started and ran her own company “Hawkins Design Group”. Hawkins Design Group was featured on a variety of HGTV shows and employed 12 people. Andrea’s work with Hawkins Design Group included over 20 years of working with many residential and commercial interior design projects. This also included home staging throughout the United States, Panama and Costa Rica. Andrea received her BFA in Interior Design from the Academy of Art University, which is where she also took her first art classes.

Andrea was drawn to painting through her recollections of playing as a child.

This inspiration led Andrea Kent to traveling, visiting museums, finding art pieces at yard sales and the search for unique art perspectives. On her artistic journey Andrea writes “After many years of working with incredible clients, artists, and finding treasured art , we move to Sonoma County to live/flip a couple homes until we found our dream family compound in “SebastaRosa”. This is where I took over the old horse stables and bought a bunch of old painted canvases from a storage locker and began splattering paints like a child again, using my hands, forks, colors galore and exploring as I played music in the background. One of a kind pieces for clients, I began painting again”

As Andrea continues to create, she continues to share her one of a kind paintings with her community.

Andrea writes, “Something surreal happens to me when I paint, kind of like enjoying a hot bubble bath, or hearing incredible music while eyes are closed and watching visions be created in my mind, but with the paint, tools and my body, I’m putting something new together. “

I love the work! And the melding of fine art, eclectic design-sense, and the old with the new is infinitely interesting…
